Waterproof LED lights are great for outdoor lighting as well as underwater projects. These are especially ideal for swimming pools, fish tanks and other areas that may be exposed to rain or other weather conditions.
The main difference between waterproof and non-waterproof strips is that the former can sustain a splash of water but will not be completely submerged in it. They are also able to withstand a high degree of moisture and are generally more durable than their non-waterproof counterparts.
What is the IP rating?
The IP rating is a specific metric that shows the level of protection a strip light has against solid objects, dust, and liquids. This metric is important because it determines how much of a risk there is for the strip light to get damaged by a foreign object or liquid.
